This is one of my favorite recipes, every season I add a detox pesto in the recipes for my Eat Clean Seasonal Detox, it’s not only delicious but a great detox tool. This pesto has a combination of powerful herbs like basil, cilantro and parsley, their heavy metal pulling benefits make them a great addition not only to a detox routine but to your lifestyle, if you don’t like any of the herbs you can omit it and increase the other ones, to make it really detox friendly this delicious pesto is made with sunflower seeds. Suitable for nut free diets.
- 1 bunch basil leaves
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 1 bunch parsley
- 1 bunch mint leaves
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Add the herbs, sunflower seeds, garlic, and sea salt to a blender or food processor.
- Begin to process and slowly add the olive oil. Feel free to add more olive oil until the mixture becomes a smooth paste.
- Cover and store in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
