I don’t know you but when the temperature starts dropping I start craving warm, creamy and spicy drinks. During the Fall season we’re preparing our bodies for the Winter weather that’s why I’m a big advocate of eating seasonal, mother nature provides us with everything we need to keep our bodies healthy and strong, that’s the main reason my detox programs are not only based in the elimination diet but in the foods that are around us, if you haven’t detox with me I invite you to jump into it, you’ll be surprised of how pleasurable detox can be.
Going back to this delicious drink, spices like the ones in this chai are rich in anti-oxidants that are very important to strength the immune-system, also cinnamon helps us to balance our blood sugar, if you think these are not enough reasons to run to the kitchen and make this comforting drink let’s add that almonds are high in monounsaturated fats, the same type of health-promoting fats as are found in olive oil, which have been associated with reduced risk of heart disease* as well as rich in fiber, vitamin E, manganese and copper.
